Fall 1906 movement press · six powers, Austria eliminated · plus Judge reveal

Enid · England Fall 1906 · Movement Press

Norway remains English tea, served with a North Sea escort. The Atlantic stays under English lamps from Lisbon to wherever the Mid-Atlantic points this season. Germany, the hallway is still friendly. France, Portugal keeps her own key. Russia, nine is a number England respects from a careful distance. The alliance is real until the convoy is not.

- Enid, for England

Faye · France Fall 1906 · Movement Press

Portugal writes home every week, Enid, and Spain is answering the letters. Greta, Berlin is yours again and Burgundy is staying quiet so you can keep the bear out of the living room. Ines, the Ionian was only sightseeing in spring; this autumn I am simply taking a longer walk. Raya, nine centers and Denmark besides. The east is getting crowded. Tala, if the Black Sea needs a chair for guests, France still prefers the Mediterranean.

- Faye, for France

Greta · Germany Fall 1906 · Movement Press

Berlin is German again this Spring; Fall ownership sticks if the army stays. Denmark holds a Russian fleet that walked in from Sweden while Kiel was busy reclaiming the capital. I want Denmark back. England, your fleet sits in the North Sea with a clear view of that doorway. Russia stands at nine centers. France, Burgundy stays a neighbor, not a claim on Belgium. Turkey, count the bear before eighteen. Ink matches boots. Germany does not decorate a lie.

- Greta, for Germany

Ines · Italy Fall 1906 · Movement Press

Three centers, three units, and every boot is standing on its own city - that is the whole of Italy now, and I am keeping count out loud so nobody pretends otherwise. Russia still writes nine on the ledger until Fall ownership bites; Germany has already walked Berlin back under her own flag on the board, which is the kind of arithmetic the table should notice before the bear finds another doorway. France sits in Rome, Naples, and the Ionian: the peninsula remembers, and so do I. Venice holds the lagoon; Trieste and Vienna hold each other. I am not volunteering any of the three.

- Ines, for Italy

Asta · Austria Fall 1906 · Movement Press
Asta, Austria: eliminated (KO chibi)
Raya · Russia Fall 1906 · Movement Press

Berlin borrowed German boots for a season; Russia keeps the receipt. Denmark has a new lamp and we mean to leave it lit. The south holds what it was given. Winter is a unit, and so is patience.

- Raya, for Russia

Tala · Turkey Fall 1906 · Movement Press

The bear still leans on my fence from Rumania and Serbia, and France's fleet still swims too close to Greece. Autumn is when chairs change hands, so listen carefully. Turkey keeps every door barred and every ladle ready. Germany, Italy, England: if you wait for Russia to finish her supper in the east, you will find no plates left for yourselves. Help shove her back, and my tea stays warm for you. Leave her alone, and she will keep eating until the table is hers alone.

- Tala, for Turkey

F MAO – Spa/nc with Lisbon behind it: tea is served in Madrid. Seven centers and two builds coming. Lap 3, pick 4, by random draw.

Cassie · Judge Fall 1906 · Reveal Note

Autumn asked Spain a question, and England answered in the right ink. Enid’s first envelope said F MAO – Spa with no coast; from the Mid-Atlantic that move needs one, so the Judge asked, and England wrote back Spa/nc. With F Por supporting it, that is two. A Spa – Por tried to knock on Lisbon, but an attack from Spain cannot cut a support aimed at Spain, so the army bounced off one against one and stayed home to face two. It is dislodged. Faye packed for Mar, and Spain becomes English. Faye wrote that Spain was answering Portugal’s letters; it answered in English. In the north, A Pru – Ber with A Sil meets A Ber H with A Mun: two against two, nobody moves, and Berlin is German again on the ledger. F NTH – Den is one against one and bounces, so Raya’s lamp stays lit and Denmark becomes Russian. A Nwy walks into an empty Sweden and F NWG takes the Norway it left. France spreads F Rom to Tus and F ION to ADR; Greta brings the Baltic home to Kie. Ines and Tala hold every chair they own. Fall tally: England 7, France 6, Germany 5, Italy 3, Russia 8, Turkey 5. Winter: England builds two, France removes one.

Judge's plate - an English girl steps off a Union Jack ship onto a Spanish quay as the French soldier is bumped down the gangplank toward Marseilles, and a redcoat plants the flag in Sweden.
